Hundreds of mourners have farewelled Gold Coast woman Tara Brown.

The 24-year-old died after she was allegedly run off a Molendinar street last week and bashed as she laid trapped in the wreckage.

In an hour-long service at Southport Church of Christ, the mourners heard of the 24-year-old’s unyielding zest for life.

An aunt said Ms Brown had “amazed” everyone with her beauty, before adding that the sorrow caused by her tragic death should not be in vain.

“You’ve challenged us to make our world a safer place for our children,” the aunt told the mourners.

“Know that you’ll live in our hearts.”

Many of the mourners at the Southport church were wearing shirts paying tribute to Ms Brown.

Friends have previously spoken of their love for Ms Brown, describing her as “beautiful, inside and out”.

“Tara, she was our girl, she played touch [football] with us, she was like a family member … she was like a big sister to my daughter, a little sister to me,” friend Stacey Gentles said at a memorial site last week.

“She was life, she was fun, bright, bubbly happy; she was beautiful inside and out.”

Ms Brown’s former partner Lionel Patea was charged with murder and appeared in court on Wednesday.
