Cumberbatch in Blundstones at wedding

Oscar-nominated actor Benedict Cumberbatch has been snapped wearing iconic Australian footwear Blundstones the day after he wed fiancÊ and theatre director Sophie Hunter in the UK.
The pair were photographed on the Isle of Wight, an island off the south coast of England, after marrying on Valentineâs Day.

The 38-year-old actor, famed for his role as Sherlock Holmes, donned a leather jacket, flat cap and dark sunglasses and a pair of iconic elastic sided brown Blundstone boots, while the pregnant Hunter was dubbed âMrs Sherlock Holmesâ for wearing a brown cape coat and wellies for the trip to a local pub.
They were pictured leaving the Sun Inn pub in Hulverstone.
So how did Cumberbatch end up wearing a pair of âBlunniesâ?
Blundstone Australia, a private Tasmanian company, was an official sponsor of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, where the boots were tried on, photographed and signed by filmmakers, so weâre guessing there could be a connection there?
Cumberbatch and Hunter went to extraordinary lengths to keep their wedding secret from the press and his loyal army of fans, the Daily Mail reports.
Roads around the village of Mottistone had been cordoned off prior to the Valentineâs Day wedding, and a white van drew up outside the church at the crucial moment that Cumberbatch and his new bride Hunter emerged, blocking the view.
Cumberbatch has been nominated for the Best Actor Oscar, for his role as code-breaking genius Alan Turing in The Imitation Game.
