Yet more World Cup moguls glory for Jakara Anthony

Olympic champion Jakara Anthony has continued her unprecedented run of World Cup success with a sixth moguls victory in the final event of 2023 in Bakuriani, Georgia.
Itâs the best ever start to a World Cup season by any Australian winter sports athlete, with Anthonyâs season haul now including six gold medals and one bronze.
The 25-year-oldâs overall career tally of 14 World Cup gold medals also moved her closer to Australian mogul great Dale Begg-Smithâs 18 victories.
Anthony powered through the dual mogul rounds with ease in Bakuriani, with her closest race coming in the semi-final stage against US skier Jaelin Kauf.

In the big final, Anthony thrashed Maia Schwinghammer 35-0 after the Canadian crashed out after the top air.
âIt was an awesome day out here for duals, and to go on the podium with Jaelin and Maia,â Anthony said.
âJaelin is renowned for her speed, so to finally get one on her on that, and to see Maia get her first podium was awesome to be a part of.â
Kauf is the only skier to have beaten Anthony this season, with victory in the dual mogul at Idre Fjall, Sweden, this month.
In the menâs event in Georgia, 2022 Olympian Cooper Woods finished seventh, the Australianâs best dual mogul result of the season to date.
Canadian Mikael Kingsbury won the menâs gold.
The next World Cup moguls event is in Val St Come, Canada, on January 19-20.
