He’s been garnering headlines over allegations of tanking, poor on-court behaviour and a simmering feud with Tennis Australia’s director of performance Pat Rafter – now Nick Kyrgios has something else to frown about.

Kyrgios took the biggest dive of anyone in the top 50 on Monday, slipping from No.29 to No.41 in the world in the latest ATP rankings.

While he enjoyed a credible fourth-round appearance at Wimbledon, his quarter-final showing the year before meant he still took a big dint with the points he had to defend from 2014.

There were no such concerns for fellow Australian bad boy Bernard Tomic, up a spot to No.25 as his country’s highest-ranked player.

Sam Groth (68), Thanasi Kokkinakis (69), James Duckworth (84) and John Millman (98) all made the top 100.

It will mean little as he winds down his long career but, off the back off a first-round loss at the All England Club, Lleyton Hewitt has spiralled 161 spots down to No.279 in the world.

The men’s top 10 remained unchanged with Wimbledon winner Novak Djokovic comfortably holding down the No.1 ranking.

Similarly, women’s victor Serena Williams, who’ll be eyeing a calendar year grand slam when she plays at the US Open starting at the end of August, topped the WTA rankings.

Unsurprisingly, beaten finalist Garbine Muguruza was the big mover, up to world No.9 from 20th in the world.

Sam Stosur is still the top-ranked Australian woman, steady at No.23.
