Mid-match coffee kick starts Serena Williams

Ever struggled to get through work without a coffee? Then youâll understand why Serena Williams ordered an espresso halfway through a match on Monday night.
Williams said she struggling in her game against Italyâs Flavia Pennetta in Perthâs Hopman Cup, with jet lag taking its toll.

âI am a coffee drinker and I didnât have mine this morning and I was just feeling it, so I had to get some coffee in me,â Williams said after winning the game.
âI just asked them to get me a shot of espresso. I asked them if it was legal, because Iâve never done it before.â
âBut I needed to wake up â itâs just the jetlag. It gets you all the time.â
The world number one went down in the first set in 19 minutes, but made a complete turnaround after the caffeine fix, winning the match in three sets, 0-6 6-3 6-0.
