Nick Kyrgios’ coach faces an uncertain future despite guiding the teenager to the last eight at Wimbledon.

New Zealander Simon Rea has overseen the 19-year-old’s rapid rise from outside the world’s top 800 at the start of last year to the quarter-finals of a grand slam.

The Age reported on Wednesday that the relationship will end after Wimbledon, with Kyrgios keen to relocate back to his home town of Canberra, while Rea is based in Melbourne.

The Age also said Kyrgios’ junior coach Todd Larkham is expected to pick up some of the slack.

Neither party has confirmed the split, however, and Kyrgios said after beating Nadal it was not an immediate focus.

“I haven’t actually had any thoughts on that at all,” Kyrgios said.

“We have a commitment till the end of Wimbledon.

“He’s done a great job. I’ve had the best week of my life, the biggest win of my career.

“I’m just focusing on my match tomorrow.”

Kyrgios is guaranteed at least $A432,000 for reaching the quarter-finals and a rankings rise to world No.66.
