ā€œJust had to ditch a full basket of groceries and do the walk of shame out of Woolies!ā€ wrote Shea Bennett on Facebook.

ā€œAn SMS or something to warn me of the impending embarrassment might have been nice.ā€

Renae Snorkelbender said she had been left stranded by the glitch: ā€œThis really sucks I need to buy medicine and nappies for 2 babies!ā€

Bankwest spokesman Russell Quinn apologised for the technical issues and said the company would post updates on Facebook.

ā€œWe are working on it as we speak.ā€
