Greens candidate Hannah Thomas speaks out after police clash

Former Greens candidate Hannah Thomas sits down with 10 News+ for her first TV interview since her eye injury from a clash with police made global headlines.
Thomas, a would-be federal politician and young protester, suffered shocking injuries during her arrest at a pro-Palestinian rally in Sydney in June 2025.
āIt all happened very fast, and I remember feeling like that impact on my head and just thinking, āOh my God, like, what was that?āā Thomas told Amelia Brace.
āThen I was dragged away to another point. And at that point, I realised the extent just because of the throbbing. And I was like, āOh, my face just does not feel normal.ā
āAnd I think at that point I was already like, āOh my God. I think my sight might be affected.āā
Thomas told 10 News+Ā she was in ācomplete shockā that this level of injury occurred.
āEven if I donāt lose the eye, I donāt know how much vision Iām getting back,ā she said.
