Sydney police are appealing for help to find an 11-year-old girl who went missing from her North Bondi home on Saturday evening.

Michelle Levy was last seen leaving her home on Glenayr Avenue about 6.30pm after an argument with a family member.

She was wearing a white party dress with black, orange and yellow flowers on it and a black sash.

Despite extensive searches of the area, she has not yet been found.

Michelle is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 150cm tall, with a thin build. She has long red hair, blue eyes and freckles.

Her father Adam Levy said his daughter’s disappearance was out of character.

“If we fight she storms off and sulks like a normal 11-year-old girl but she normally doesn’t go very far, only around the corner to her grandparents house,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“She’s a chip off the old block really and sometimes we do have a personality clash.”

Detective Inspector Simon Glasser said police had searched the area, contacted her friends and sought CCTV from local businesses, but so far they had no leads.

“We’re continuing our efforts with CCTV and we also have enlisted the SES to assist with doorknocking of the local residents in the area,” he said.

“We have enlisted resources to search the cliff faces and water areas.”

Michelle had gone missing in the past, “but only for a very short period of time when she’s gone to family members’ houses,” Detective Inspector Glasser said.

“We have concerns for her welfare, due to her age, and we’re calling on anyone who knows of her whereabouts to contact Bondi Police or Crime Stoppers.”
