Police say they have expanded their search for missing three-year-old William Tyrell and are calling upon anyone with information to come forward.

In a press conference on Tuesday morning, Superintendent Paul Fehon said that investigators are “after any lead whatsoever” in the hunt for the missing toddler, who disappeared from his grandmother’s house in Kendall, NSW, on Friday.

“Can I just say it’s part of our open-mindedness that we ask that if there’s any members of public who know of anyone who was visiting the Kendall area last Friday before 11am,” Mr Fehon said.

“Someone would know something if young William is not lost in the bush.”

A friend of the Tyrell family, known only as Nicole, said William’s family were “completely distressed”.

“They just want William back. As every day passes it’s just harder and harder for them. They’re just really grateful for the police and SES and volunteers and community who continue to maintain the search and maintain the hope.”

Nicole also added that the toddler “did not have the tendency to wander” and was well-educated about the dangers of playing outdoors.

“He didn’t live here so he wasn’t in the bush but he was definitely outdoorsy. He loved being outside but he knew the limits, he knew where to go and not to go he was very conscious.”
