Auschwitz selfie teen: no regrets after backlash

An American teenager who caused outrage after tweeting a selfie taken at Auschwitz death camp says that she wouldnât do anything differently.
Breanna Mitchell from Alabama received abuse for posting the image, which was shared over 3,000 times, but says that she doesnât understand why it offended anyone.
âHonestly, I donât think I would do anything differently, because I didnât mean any harm,â she said, âAnd, like, I told everybody my story behind it, so thatâs the only reason I donât regret taking it,â said Ms Mitchell in an interview.
According to a report by Gawker, the teen says she wasnât ignorant of the history of Auschwitz, and actually studied the Holocaust with her father who had since passed away.
She said that she had made the trip there in his memory on the anniversary of his death.
âHe died a year ago, so that trip actually meant something to me and I was happy about it,â she said.
