Liam Gallagher has lashed out at Coldplay as the band’s infamous live kiss-cam moment continues to make ripples.

The 52-year-old, who is back on the road with Oasis, hit out at the incident on stage amid the continuing fallout from last Wednesday’s Coldplay concert in Boston.

In scenes that rapidly went global, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked about a couple who were caught on camera cuddling. They were later identified as Andy Byron, 50, and Kristin Cabot – both executives at software start-up Astronomer and both reportedly married to other people.

“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” Martin joked from the stage.

At an Oasis concert in the British city of Manchester on Sunday (local time), and following worldwide backlash over the incident, Gallagher made it clear that his fans need not fear the spotlight.

“Do we have any love birds in the house? Don’t worry, we ain’t got any of that Coldplay snidey f—ing camera shit,” he told the crowd.

“This one’s for the love birds anyway.

“Doesn’t matter to us who you’re mingling with – or tingly with, fingingly with.

“None of our f—ing business.”

Last week’s Coldplay incident has sparked global attention after Martin’s stage camera landed on Byron and Cabot, who appeared stunned.

The clip rapidly gained traction online, and has been viewed more than 120 million times and counting. It has sparked internet memes and an array of copycats at concerts and sports events.

At the weekend, Astronomer said Byron had resigned.

“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” the company said.

“While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not.”

Astronomer co-founder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy has taken over as interim CEO. On Monday (US time), he said the company had received a level of media attention and scrutiny that few start-ups would ever encounter.

“At Astronomer we have never shied away from challenges. A near-decade of building this business has tested us time and time again, and each time we’ve emerged stronger,” he said.

“We’re here because Astronomer is built by people who live to solve hard problems, stay late to fix what’s broken, and care deeply about doing things the right way.”

Neither Byron nor Cabot has spoken publicly.

Meanwhile, the concertgoer who filmed the original footage said she didn’t expect it to get the attention it did.

“In the moment when I filmed it I didn’t think much of it, but everyone was kind of chattering,” Grace Springer told British broadcaster ITV.

She also said she was regularly being asked how much money she’d made from the clip.

“I’ve actually made no money from the video itself or the views,” Springer said.

“It’s not monetised.”

Asked whether she would post it again, she said: “If it wasn’t me who uploaded it, I’m sure someone else would’ve.”

Springer said the reaction to her clip had been “overwhelming”.

“I’m glad you guys are entertained and that I’ve made your internet experience fun for the last few days,” she said.

“But at the end of the day, Andy’s wife and family, they’re very real people so, yeah, just keep that in mind.”
