Pamela Anderson says she’s “completely offended” by Donald Trump’s comments about women, in a speech in which she revealed she had been sexually assaulted as a child.

Arguing that the prevalence of desensitising porn was alienating couples from enjoying sensual, healthy relationships, the actress and former Playboy model said she had been molested as a child, raped when she was a teenager and disrespected by sexual partners.

She condemned previous comments made by the US presidential candidate which were recently leaked, in which Trump appeared to advocate grabbing women on the genitals.

The ex-Baywatch star said: “It’s terrible and I’ve heard other men speak that way, even about me, and it cannot be swept under the rug because how we deal with it – how he is … it’s not okay.

“So I was completely offended, like everybody else, and I don’t like the way he said it was just locker room behaviour because I don’t believe that’s true of the men who do speak that way.

“It’s got to stop, you’ve got to have respect for women, behind closed doors, around women and around men.”

The 49-year-old made the comments in the UK during a joint event with American orthodox Rabbi and prolific author Shmuley Boteach.

The unlikely duo are in the UK for a series of talks as part of their pornography awareness campaign, Take The Pledge, where they are advising people to be more aware of what they are exposing themselves to.

The actress admitted she was afraid “the world might forget how to make love” as she warned that desensitising and violent pornography is destroying intimate relationships.

She said she had previously been in a relationship where her partner looked at porn in the bathroom while she was in the bedroom.

Addressing the packed chamber, she said: “It is not fine to be slapped, called a whore and spat on – it’s sick, it’s hurtful, it’s demeaning and it’s terrible, terrible sex.”

The famous sex symbol who appeared on the front cover of Playboy said she was aware her criticism of porn might seem hypocritical but that she was speaking out because “I am afraid that the world might forget how to make love”.

Anderson is currently working on her new book The Sensual Revolution, on the increasing disconnection between sensuality and sexuality.

At a previous charity event, Anderson had said: “I did not have an easy childhood. Despite loving parents, I was molested from age six by a female babysitter.

‘I went to a friend’s boyfriend’s house and his older brother decided to teach me backgammon which led into a back massage, which led into rape. My first heterosexual experience.”
