If you can’t remember how you got home last Saturday night, good news — Google can.

The tech giant has unveiled a new feature in Google Maps that remembers users trips, assuming the user has GPS and privacy features enabled.

The feature will be handy if you’ve ever had any desire to remember your holiday street-by-street.

“We’re gradually rolling out Your Timeline, a useful way to remember and view the places you’ve been on a given day, month or year,” Google product manager Gerard Sanz said in a blog post on Tuesday.

“Your Timeline allows you to visualise your real-world routines, easily see the trips you’ve taken and get a glimpse of the places where you spend your time.”

The timeline is private and visible only to users who are able to edit and delete the locations visited.

Location names can also be edited in the feature.

Photos geotagged during trips will also appear in the timeline.

Your Timeline is available on desktop and android mobiles.
