The New Daily took to the streets to find three ‘eggsperts’ to assess four milk chocolate Easter eggs.

The judges were tough in critiquing the eggs, as they gobbled down the sugary, chocolatey goodness, with not a crumb to spare.

1. Haigh’s milk chocolate egg (50g)

Price: $4.95

Ingredients: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Cocoa Solids(36%) (Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter), Milk Solids(19%), Soya Lecithin, Vanilla).
Kilojoules: 2280kJ per 100g.

Sofia: It tastes a bit sweet.

Anabelle: It tastes a bit sweet.

Ben: A bit too crunchy.

2. Lindt milk chocolate bunny (50g)

Price: $5

Retail outlet: Most supermarkets, chocolate shops and Lindt Chocolate stores.

Ingredients: Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Cocoa Mass, Lactose, Skimmed Milk Powder, Emulsifier (SoyaLecithin), Malt Extract (Barley), Anhydrous Milk Fat, Flavouring (Vanillin).

Kilojoules: 2294kJ per 100g.

Sofia: It sort of tastes just like normal chocolate.

Anabelle: It’s a bit sweet.

Ben: It’s still quite chocolatey.

3. Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations chocolate egg (30g)

Ingredients: Jelly, popping candy, beanies covered in Cadbury Dairy Milk milk chocolate. Full Cream Milk, Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Mass, Popping Candy, Milk Solids, Wheat Glucose Syrup, Invert Sugar, Emulsifiers (Soy Lecithin, 476), Thickener (Acid Modified Wheat Starch), Cornflour, Colours (102, 110, 120, 122, 123, 124, 133, 141, 155, 171), Vegetable Gum (414), Glazing Agents (Vegetable Oil, 903), Flavours, Food Acid (330), Humectant (422).

Sofia: I like this one because it’s got the M&M’s in it, and crackles in my mouth.

Anabelle: It’s a bit crunchy, but I like it.

Ben: It’s popping, I like it, it’s quite creamy.

4. Koko Black milk chocolate egg (100g)

Ingredients: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Cocoa Mass, Soya Lecithin, Vanilla).

Sofia: It’s really nice, it’s really chocolatey and it’s sweet.

Anabelle: I like this one.

Ben: It’s quite chocolatey.

And the winner is…

And close second was…

Koko Black milk chocolate egg (100g)

Sofia says she can’t wait for the traditional Easter egg hunt because: “I like eating all the chocolate, and I like finding them.”

When Ben was told he could take a big piece of chocolate to try, he replied: “How big?” with a cheeky grin.
