Ticket holders for Madonna’s second Brisbane concert have been warned of another possible long delay following the pop queen’s hours-late appearance on Wednesday night.

Hundreds of angry fans walked out and got a refund before the Material Girl appeared on stage at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre (BEC) at Boondall just before 11:30pm on Wednesday.

The pop diva was meant to be on stage at 9:00pm, but organisers said they had warned fans of a possible late finish.

She is due to perform a second Brisbane concert tonight, and fans have already been warned about possible hold-ups.

“Following a late start last night, fans should note the timing for tonight’s performance may also be delayed,” the BEC wrote on Facebook.

“We encourage concert-goers to keep this in consideration when making arrangements to get home safely.”

However in a later update, the centre said they anticipated Madonna’s performance to commence at 10:00pm.

Fans who stayed for Wednesday’s show were left stranded without a means of getting home because public transport to the entertainment centre in the northern outer suburb stopped shortly after midnight — an hour before the concert eventually ended.

‘She’s just rude, she’s swearing, it’s just not the Madonna I know’

Brisbane resident Nick Sowden said even though he had waited for Madonna to appear, he ended up leaving about midnight during her performance.

“Most of the songs in that time were from the new album, which is pretty horrendous,” he said.

“As we were leaving, she mentioned something about her not being late but everyone being early.

“I thought that was a bit crude as people had paid good money to see her from jobs that they will need to be at this morning.

“She lip-synced a good amount of songs too. It wasn’t worth the wait.”

A fellow concert-goer expressed her frustration.

“She’s just rude, she’s swearing, it’s just not the Madonna I know.”

When Madonna made her first physical appearance — about 11:30pm — the 57-year-old thanked the crowd for their patience.

“We started late, that hardly ever happens,” Madonna told the crowd.

“You were here too early. You should have taken your time doing your hair and make-up, then I wouldn’t have been late.”

But some diehard fans were not worried.

“Madonna was amazing — we really really enjoyed the night — it was worth the wait,” one woman said.
