The Block’s Whitney Nolan has confirmed she has split from long-term boyfriend Andrew Simmons following the conclusion of filming for the popular reality show.

Speaking to Woman’s Day magazine, Nolan said the pair had only recently split but had started to grow apart while competing on the high-stress Channel Nine series.

“Officially it has just ended, but in my eyes it was weeks ago, when we started working on the communal level,” the 29-year-old told the magazine.

“Yes, there were tears. He was upset and I was upset, but I think we both understood it was coming to an end. We both knew it was going to happen because I wasn’t happy for a little while.”

The magazine cited one of the reasons for the split as being Simmons’ propensity for emotional meltdowns on camera.

“That’s not a bad thing,” Nolan said of Simmons’ sensitive side.

“But I think sometimes you need to man up a bit and take control.”

Nolan said she had no regrets about going on the show with her boyfriend, whom she met two years ago on dating app Tinder.

“I thank The Block because what’s the point of wasting time with someone you’re not going to be with forever? I’m single and ready to mingle!”

The finale of the renovating show, including the all-important auction, airs this Wednesday at 7.30pm.
