âHey, thatâs our show. One quick thing before we go,â Stewart told the live studio audience at his New York studio.
âI mentioned Iâd keep you up-to-date on any new information we had about the transition of the program â all those other things.
âWe do have some specific information: My last Daily Show program will be August the sixth, Iâll be wearing a suit, Iâll more than likely be showered âŚ
When the audience responded to this proclamation with disappointed boos, Stewart joked:Â âIâm sorry, Iâll be wearing overalls and I wonât shower.â
The longtime host concluded his sad announcement by spruiking a special fan experience for charity.
âI hope that you will join us for that program. As a matter of fact, you can actually join us here, in reality,â Stewart teased.
âEnter a chance to win tickets to my final episode of The Daily Show. Itâs gonna be a pretty good episode, I think. Youâll be flown to New York, put up in a nice hotel, you might even sit here, maybe Iâll give you a little ⌠selfie there.

Stewart, who hosted the show for 16 years, will be replaced by South African comedian Trevor Noah.
Shortly after Noah was announced as Stewartâs replacement, the 31-year-old was embroiled in controversy over some racist, sexist tweets from his past.
