Office workers scoff at Paltrow for wanting their lives

A working mother has lambasted newly single actress Gwyneth Paltrow in a sarcastic open letter posted on The New York Post.
The letter follows Paltrowâs recent interview with E! News in which she said having an office job was easier than being an actress.
âItâs much harder for me,â Paltrow said. âI think itâs different when you have an office job, because itâs routine and, you know, you can do all the stuff in the morning and then you come home in the evening. When youâre shooting a movie, theyâre like, âWe need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,â and then you work 14 hours a day and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but itâs not like being on set.â
Why is Gwyneth Paltrow trying to make us hate her? (Itâs working)

Mackenzie Dawson, a mother of one, has responded to Paltrowâs declaration with satire.
âDear Gwyneth,â she writes. âI couldnât agree more! âThank God I donât make millions filming one movie per yearâ is what I say to myself pretty much every morning as I wait on a windy Metro-North platform, about to begin my 45-minute commute into the city.â
Also, Iâm coining this: âGwynethian: A particular state of lovely obliviousness, a well-intentioned froth.â http://t.co/yMbedheE1Y

Dawson jokes about her âleisurelyâ schedule, saying âSometimes I even have time to drink half of my coffee before it gets cold! After my 6 a.m. wake-up, I have a lot of time to loll around, hopping in the shower and then throwing makeup on my face, hoping that Iâll have enough time to put my tights on before my son starts crying in his crib.â
She also takes aim at Paltrowâs popular lifestyle blog Goop.
âAfter I get home from work, Iâm full of energy and ready to cook dinner using one of the recipes you post on your lifestyle Web site, Goop: slow-cooked kale, pancetta and bread crumbs, anyone? After that, Iâll go to yoga, spend a few hours meditating and maybe do some online shopping, picking up a pair of $350 white leopard-printed short-shorts.â
Why do people hate Gwyneth Paltrow so much? Being nice and thoughtful doesnât mean youâre smug

It isnât the first time Paltrow has come under fire for her âaspirationalâ lifestyle advice, with critics of her website criticising her for being out of touch with normal society. When she was featured on the cover of People Magazineâs âMost Beautiful Peopleâ issue last year, the backlash was enormous.
